An exceptional relic of Saint Rumbold or Rumoldus of Mechelen, Bishop and Martyr. (S. Rumoldi Ep. M.)

Mounted in a silver reliquary finished with faceted natural stones.

The reliquary is marked on the side ‘Dvs Joan De Vreven, 1686’.

The theca is accompanied by a document certifying that the relic originated from the shrine of the same saint and was removed from the shrine by Bishop Alfons De Berges. The relic was presented to Mr Joannes Van Verven, Secretary of the Grand Council of Mechelen. The wax seal was affixed on 25 May 1683.
