Haute Epoque, An Exceptional 17th-century Gilded Bronze Reliquary Monstrance with Relics, Spain, dated 1631.

Gilded bronze and glass.

A bronze reliquary monstrance, mounted with a crucifix and finished with C-shaped ornamentation with pyramidal pinnacles.

In the case between two round glasses are three sockets containing relics (two spikes and a piece of wood).

On the base is the inscription: "E Ldo D. Francisco D. Ardieta dio este relicario para poner estas relicias ano 1631" (Lord D. Francisco D. Ardieta donated this reliquary to house these relics in 1631 (?)).
