An exceptional neoclassical gaming table, as a model by Jean-Henri Riesener. From the Château de Saint-Cloud near Paris. Late 18th/early 19th century.
Mahogany veneer. Richly mounted with ormolu bronze.
Equipped with a drawer on both sides.
Removable top with a gilt tooled leather writing surface on one side and a green felt card sheet on the other side. Under the table top is a backgammon or tric trac game board with ebony veneer and tinted horn.
Marked on the bottom with fire marks: MLM 911, 684, ESC19, E20, CS16207 and ECURIES DE ST CLOUD.
