Full lot description

A Mechelen 'Poupée de Malines' Madonna with a Child, sculptured fruit wood, 16th/17th century. 

Made in the Mechelen area, Flanders (The Netherlands), circa 1580-1620. 
The hangers on the backside of her neck indicate she was dressed in clothing for feast days. On te reverse with an opening where there used to be a relic stored. 
Remains of polychromy. 

On the base with a Mechelen mark.
